Yasushi was certified as a yoga teacher by Rudrani (Ann Farbman) at the World Yoga Center. Yasushi currently teaches at the World Yoga Center. He has been studying various Hatha Yoga styles since 1990. He studied with Hilary Cartwright, Gordon Sharpe, Rama, Rudrani, Rodney Yee, and John Friend. Currently Yasushi participates in the Teacher Training Course of Anusara Yoga under the direction of John Friend. His teaching style is based upon the Iyenger method and the principles of Anusara Yoga, and his meditation practice is grounded in the teachings of Siddha Yoga, currently under the spiritual guidance of Gurumayi Chidvilasananda.

Yasushi danced in the Broadway production of The King and I, as well as with a number of modern dance companies in NYC. He toured internationally in Europe, South America, and East Asia, as well as nationally throughout the US. Yasushi has taught dance technique and choreography in NYC and on the international circuit including Brazil, Switzerland, Israel, Germany, and Japan. He received a bachelor's degree in the Arts-Performing and Education from Shiga University in Japan.
